Laminaria Digitata is a large brown alga and belongs to the Laminariaceae family.
Also known as Oarweed or Strapweed, it’s very common in the lower intertidal and shallow subtidal growing on rocks in Britain and Ireland.
In addition to iodine and iron, kelp is a rich source of calcium, magnesium, potassium, folate, copper, zinc, nickel, and vitamin K.
